What will my child do while in Community Speech Therapy sessions?
Depending on your child’s speech, language, or communication needs, we will focus on:
Expressive language: Building sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary, and storytelling skills
Articulation & phonology: Helping children produce speech sounds more clearly and accurately
Early language development: Encouraging first words, combining words, and communication attempts
Social communication: Teaching turn-taking, greetings, eye contact, and conversation skills
Functional communication: Using language in real-life routines (e.g., snack time, play, transitions)
Play-based therapy: Engaging children using toys, games, and familiar materials in their natural environment
Generalization: Helping children use skills across different people, settings, and activities
